55-Year-Old Labasa Labourer Loses Home To Fire

A 55-year old labourer of Wailevu, Tiri, Labasa lost his home in a fire on Wednesday night.

The three bedroom home was completely destroyed in the fire which started at around 8pm.

The cost of damage is estimated to be $50,000.

The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained as investigations continue.

In a separate incident recorded yesterday at Kawakawa Place, Laucala Beach, a home belonging to a 62-year old retiree was completely destroyed in a fire.

The fire allegedly started from the kitchen and the damage to the home containing three flats is estimated to be around $300,000.

Joint investigations with the National Fire Authority continues.
