Musical, Art Supplies To Help Blind Students

The Fiji Society for the Blind received a kind donation of musical and art supplies from the ‘I See Love In Your Eyes’ art initiative on Friday.
The organising committee raised $66,715.00 in funds from concert tickets, t-shirt sales, auctions and financial contributions by sponsors. The funds were used to host a successful Mana in Voyage Darkness concert and purchase art supplies and musical instruments for the children.
Chair of the ISLIYE Art Initiative, Jenny Seeto reiterated the support of the Government and Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama in advocating for equality of opportunities for all persons including the disabled and the hearing and visually impaired as enshrined in our Constitution.
“The remainder of the funds will be utilised to support the mentoring programme, the musical and arts coaching classes and associated costs for your children who will benefit from the programme.
“Our wish is for you children to enjoy music and arts and please use the gifts and talents you have to open opportunities for yourselves, no matter how small or big they may seem,” Ms Seeto said.
She thanked art patrons, the Ambassador of European Union Delegation for the Pacific, Sujiro Seam and his wife Jane Ren-Seam, for being part of the initiative.
