A-G Clears Singapore Trip Talk

Attorney-General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum is in Singapore undergoing a medical procedure. And the costs are borne by him, he said.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum cleared the air as he started an online consultation for the 2021/2022 National Budget called the ‘Straight Budget Talk’ yesterday evening.
He responded from Singapore to questions sent online and through videos.
In the past week, there were rumours that Mr Sayed-Khaiyum had travelled to Singapore and returned without being in quarantine.
He said he was in Singapore for some medical procedures.
“Every single returning citizen or tourist has to go through quarantine in Fiji. And I will be doing that upon my return,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.
“Also, heard some silly people make some comments. This is of course a personal medical trip for me which means that all the expenses are borne by me.
“None of the expenses for this trip or my medical procedure is borne by the Fijian Government or any of the Fijian taxpayers.”
