Fijian-born France winger Alifereti Raka scored twice as Clermont beat Agen 52-16 in their Top 14 clash yesterday. Clermont also fielded Fijian internationals Peceli Yato, Peni Ravai and Apisai Naqaliva.
Earlier on Clermont hammered fellow strugglers Bayonne 73-3, making it 18 tries and 125 points.
They remain in fourth place on 55 points but are now just three points behind leaders La Rochelle and Racing 92 who both have 58. Meanwhile, Levani Botia’s try was not enough for La Rochelle.
Toulouse inflicted La Rochelle’s first home loss in the Top 14 in two years on Saturday with a 14-11 victory which allowed them to claim pole position in the table.
