Infidelity Is Detrimental To Family: Ledua

The consequences of extra marital affairs are detrimental to your aging parents, patiently waiting spouses and children.
This was the solid statement made by the Commissioner Western, Mesake Ledua when closing the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) Pre-Deployment Training last Thursday at the Lololo training area in Lautoka.
He was speaking to 139 Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) personnel who will be departing our shores for Golan Heights in April.
The RFMF personnel who are part of the 1st Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment (1FIR) Task Force Daimani (2) will be going for 12 months on deployment.
“Spouses and children must be assured that you will be returning to your family and your family alone. Your loyalty is paramount,” he said.
“Remember their burden is ten folds more and disappointing them after a long wait is immoral and unethical as well as against all boundaries of religion.
“Immorality also shows disrespect for different gender and this is neither condoned by the RFMF nor the Government of the day.
“The Government believes in all strong pillars of the UN and respect for women is one we uphold both as an institution and the nation.”
He said the RFMF and the nation expected the same from them while hoisting the national flag on foreign land.
“Remember being an ambassador for the nation on full time duty in uniform is no easy task, but of course we do not give easy tasks to our best soldiers,” said Mr Ledua.
Mr Ledua added one idled moment of ‘vucesa’ could cost them their life.
