Head Prefects Follow Their Family Members’ Footsteps

The new head boy of Namara District School is following his mother’s footsteps.

Thirteen-year-old Luke Molikeve Vuibau, who hails from Naisausau Village in Namara, Tailevu with maternal links to Nagado in Nadi said: “My mother, Merelite Salele was the head girl at Vaturu District School in Nadi. She encourages me to always do my best in any task given to me.

“I will make sure that students and I will have continuous discussions and briefings with children and deal with them in terms of their behaviour.

“Maintaining discipline is one of my goals this year. I know it will not be easy, but with the help of the students, we will have a good year.”

Meanwhile head girl Amalaini Marama thanked her family for their continuous support.

The 13-year-old hails from Nakorolevu Village in Namara, Tailevu with maternal links to Naisausau, Namara, Tailevu.

“I am not the first in the family to be the head girl because my sister was also a head girl in 2016,” Amalaini said.

“I always wanted to become the head girl because my sister paved the way for me.

“I know that this role is not easy because I will have to set an example for the other students.

“I am ready to fulfill the responsibilities the teachers have bestowed on me.

“I want to thank the teachers for believing in me and I will make sure that I don’t let them down.”
