Man Pleads Guilty To Nasinu Robbery

A 21-year-old man accused of robbing a driver of his taxi, cash and mobile phone pleaded guilty yesterday.
Sione Mahe Cokanasiga Bilitaki appeared before Justice Thushara Rajasinghe in the High Court in Suva.
Bilitaki is charged with one count of aggravated robbery.
On December 20, 2020, at Tacirua in Nasinu, Bilitaki, who was armed, stole one black Toyota motor vehicle with the registration number LT 4608, one Samsung mobile phone and $250 cash from Ajnesh Prasad.
He told the court that he was fully aware of the consequences of the guilty plea.
Bilitaki also told the court that he was not promised, threatened or forced to plead guilty.
The case was adjourned for summary of facts to be filed and served on March 9.
Bilitaki was further remanded in custody by the High Court.
