Brown To Work On Stamina

Marist Champagnat Institute, middle distance runner Joseph Brown is going to build up on his stamina.
The Veidrala, Ra lad clocked 2.37.53 minutes in the intermediate boys 800m final during the school’s interhouse competition at the ANZ Stadium, Suva, yesterday.
Speaking to SUNsports, Brown said he would have to change his training style.
“I’ll have to build my stamina ahead of the zone and then to the Coke Games,” he said.
“Running in the interhouse game me an indication on how much I need to work on my fitness and stamina.
“My coach has been very supportive towards my training and I believe that doing extra training should boost my chances at the zone meet.
“First things first I will have to try and win the zone meet. I’ll have to run a lot of long distance running during training.
“To increase my stamina I’ve to run 10 days straight with high tempo.
“Now I’ll have to also watch my diet and make sure that I’m consistent during the Suva Zone One meet in Week 9.”
