Ravudi Can’t Wait To Fight Abhay

Stylish Naitasiri welterweight boxer, Jese Ravudi, is confident of beating veteran Abhay Chand in their clash at Prince Charles Park, Nadi, on March 20.
Ravudi, who had a fighting stint in Australia said, he was using the fight to build his career.
“I can’t wait for the moment to face Abhay in the ring,” he said.
“I’ve heard a lot about him. I don’t care how famous he is, but anyone who is in my weight division, I’ll fight him. I’m confident of winning the fight.”
In his last fight, Ravudi showed his class when his powerful body punches stopped Ronald Naidu in the ninth round.
Boxing promoter, Freddy Chand said, the winner will be the top contender for the vacant Fijian middleweight title.
“So whoever wins this fight will have a good chance to fight for the middleweight title of Fiji. All the top boxers are in this programme,” he said.
Chand also urged members of the public to come out in big numbers.
Meanwhile, Boxing Commission of Fiji chairman, Subhash Appana said, the programme has some of the most anticipated match-ups.
“We have put on two title fights, one involving Joseph Kwadjo and Alifereti Kauyaca for the cruiserweight title,” he said.
“And the other one is between Nathan Singh and Ronald Naidu for the super lightweight title.
“Now in addition to that we have some interesting matchups, one of them will be Jese Ravudi versus Abhay Chand.”
