Apakuki Aims To Maintain Discipline

Naitasiri Secondary School head boy Apakuki Senikaboa will make sure discipline is maintained.
The 18-year-old, who is the first in his family to be head boy, has vowed to do his best to empower his colleagues and help them become better leaders.
Apakuki hails from Navutu Village in Navuakece, Naitasiri, with maternal links to Saliadrau Village in Namosi.
“I never dreamed that I would come this far and I want to thank the teachers for believing in me,” Apakuki said.
“In return, I will lead to the best of my ability, not only empowering other students, but also develop them to become better leaders.
“To be elected as the head boy means a lot, especially the trust teachers have bestowed upon me.
“I believe that leadership is about connecting to people and encouraging students to become the best version of themselves.”
He thanked God and his teachers for their support.
Meanwhile, head girl Marica Takayawa, said she applauded the efforts of female prefects and saw each of them as ambassadors for women empowerment.
Marica, who hails from Doi Village in Ono-i-Lau with maternal links to Ravitaki Village in Kadavu said: “I want to make a difference in my school and set a good example for the students.
“I know that this role comes with a lot of responsibilities, but I believe we have capable prefects.
“My parents have been great role models to me and I want to thank them for their continuous support and teachers for their encouragement and motivation.”
Deputy head prefects are Joana Koroirara, Naina Caginiveivoka, Inia Rinaka and Emosi Daubitu.
