Nadroga Upset Suva At Lawaqa

The Garfil Coster coached- Nadroga side started their campaign with a 2-0 win over Suva in the Digicel Women’s Super League clash at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka, yesterday.

The hosts had the services of the Mere Cikaitoga, Lusi Sotia, Karalaini Ranadi, Maureen Kanta, Milika Masei, and Lanieta Vateqe.

What happened: It took both teams time to settle down.

Halftime: Nadroga 0-0 Suva.

The hosts backed by their supporters took control of the match. They dominated territory and had the Suva defenders under pressure.

In the 55th minute Ateca Qauia drew first blood as the Suva side were in a shock.

Then in the 58th minute Vere Uluisau kicked in their second goal.

Comments: Nadroga coach Coster said: “This was a good win as it is was the first match of the competition. The girls played a splendid game. We had weakness in the midfield but managed to work on it.”

Suva captain Livia Bolanavanua said: “We need to be more focused. We will go back to the drawing board and work things out from there.”
