Rewa football coach, Rodicks Singh, was upset with his side when they went down, 0-1, to Unique Rubber Stamp Printery Suva on Sunday at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.

The former Rewa youth coach has replaced Marika Rodu, who is now focusing on the national women’s team.

Singh indicated that he was honoured for the role, however upset that the Delta Tigers could not win.

“Definitely this is one of the good achievements but it is one of the games that I do not want to remember but bringing the team out here was something very honourable and massive.

“Not the result I wanted as a debutant coach,” he said.

“The boys lacked urgency and aggression in attack. We were very predictable in the attacking third.

“Our aggression was not there.”

Singh said they would come back stronger when they faced Lautoka in the second round of the Digicel Premier League.

“We surely want to come back winning because we know we cannot be losing or going for a draw, we need to win.

“So we will go back to see the areas we need to work on and we will come back better.

“Lautoka is a good team with a very good coach, we need to prepare well, and plan accordingly.

“We know beating Lautoka is going to take a lot, definitely not this performance but the performance we were known for in the past years.

“Definitely we need to step up,” Singh added.
