Ashna Kumar followed these two court proceedings today:

1.The High Court in Suva has ruled that the former radio personality Pio Ratuwaqa is guilty of causing the death of a woman in a motor vehicle accident. The 54-year-old, facing manslaughter charge, appeared before Justice Thushara Rajasinghe.

2. Prosecution’s witness who claimed to have been allegedly detained overnight in April 2017 on the orders of former Director Internal Affairs, Acting SSP Mohammed Talib Khan took stand at the Magistrates Court in Suva yesterday. Khan, who was the Commanding officer at Totogo Police Station in 2017, is charged by the Director of Public Prosecutions with one count of abuse of office.
