The Republic of Fiji Military Forces’ Major Neumi Vakadewabuka is urging Fijians to ‘come forward, register, and get vaccinated’.

Major Vakadewabuka was first 10 frontliners to get vaccinated yesterday with the AstraZeneca vaccine during the official launch of the vaccination roll-out programme.

He is paving the way for his fellow troops and all Fijians in the nation’s fight against COVID-19.

Major Vakadewabuka is part of the COVID Risk Mitigation Taskforce monitoring the blue lane quarantine for yachts at Denarau.

“This vaccine gives us more safety to continue to do our roles. We are happy and grateful that it will give us confidence to carry out our roles,” he said.

“It is good for Fiji,” the 35-year-old.

The Burerua, Sawakasa, Tailevu soldier has spent 16 years with the RFMF.
