The Fijian 7s team must master the art of winning restarts if they are to win the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games in Japan.

This was the gist of Jasa Veremalua’s message during an interview with SUNsports, this week.

Veremalua was a key member of the Ben Ryan-coached side that won the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The lanky Korotogo, Nadroga, native combined well with Semi Kunatani, Apisai Domolailai, Viliame Mata and Leone Nakarawa to dominate the restarts.

Speaking from the US, he urged players in the training squad to work hard and dominate key areas like the restarts.

“If we want to retain the gold medal then the boys will have to start working on their kickoffs,” he said.
