No side effects and still breathing.

Frontline workers who were vaccinated on the first day have come forward saying this to debunk false claims made on social media about the COVID-19 vaccine.

The first person to get the AstraZeneca, Dr Mara Vukivukiseru, said on Friday that he was well and had not felt any side effects as such.

He urged Fijians to get the shot.

Prominent Fiji Airports staff member Joe Grey was also among the first 10 to get the shot during the official launch last Wednesday.

He posted a video on social media telling people not to believe in the lies fabricated about the vaccine.

“No side effects and a 110 per cent fine,” said Mr Grey.

He asked people not to be swayed by the fake news and when given the chance, take the shot for their family and Fiji.

Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services Dr James Fong said the side effects of any vaccine, if they occur, tend to last for 24 to 72 hours in people get them.
