Attaining a National Toppers Scholarship (NTS) has given Soheel Kumar and his family a renewed sense of hope for better things to come.

With the financials of his studies covered, he can now focus on achieving the best academically.

The 18-year-old has praised the Government for making his dream come true. Mr Kumar said the scholarship would allow him to complete his three-year course in accounting and finance at the University of the South Pacific, without being stressed out about paying for it.

“Now, I have to work harder to get good grades and maintain the scholarship,” he said.

“I feel really proud and overwhelmed. My parents have faced many challenges but they never gave up. They believed in us so that we can fulfil their dreams,” the youngest of three siblings said.

Soheel lives in Daku, Labasa. He graduated from Nadogo Central College.
