Fijian-Made Recognition For Nagan Engineering

Nagan Engineering Fiji Pte Limited, a Ba-based hi-tech foundry, is now recognised as a Fijian Made manufacturer.
Director, Anand Nagan, received the certificate yesterday, from the Minister for Commerce and Trade, Faiyaz Koya, in Suva, in a private ceremony.
Mr Nagan said: “This means the Government recognises the work we do in the production of cast iron, by granting concessions, and further promoting our products.
“We are a brand name; so this certificate takes our brand to another level.”
Operating out of Yalalevu, and established in 1966, Nagan Engineering is the only company in the Pacific that carries out metal casting, Mr Nagan said.
The company exports to neighbouring Pacific island countries, but has reported a marked decrease in volume, he said.
“The nature of our work is such that we pick up scrap metal and offcuts, melt it down, to build certain grades of cast iron,” Mr Nagan said.
The company employs 25 people.
