Lautoka Yasawa Zone: Natabua’s Josevata Rasoi Scoops Gold

Natabua High School student Josevata Rasoi scooped the gold medal in the senior boys 100 metres final of the Lautoka Yasawa Zone at Churchill Park, Lautoka yesterday.

The Nalawa, Ra native clocked 11.2 seconds.

“If it wasn’t for the one above this win wouldn’t be mine,” Rasoi said

“I dedicate this win to my late brother Josaia Raqaqabiu and his family in Lawai Nadroga. Not forgetting my hostel brothers.”

The 18-year- old said he is looking forward to run at the Coca-Cola Games in Suva.

Mereani Kuru of Natabua High School won the gold medal in the senior girl’s 100m with a time of 13.4s.

Medal tally

At the end of Day One Natabua High School was leading the medal tally in the boy’s division with 16 gold medals, 12 silvers, 3 bronze.

They were followed by Lautoka Muslim College with 2 gold, 4 bronze medals while Drasa Secondary School had 2 gold medals.

Jasper Williams High School topped the girl’s division with 12 gold medals, 12 silvers ,6 bronze followed by Natabua High School with 6 gold, 5 silvers, 5 bronze while Central College collected 3 gold medals, 3 silvers, 3 bronze.
