There is a possibility that the realignment work at the Korosomo slip in Macuata would be delayed.

Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) Acting Chief Executive Officer Kamal Prasad said the delay was due to the continuous rain in the area that had affected the road progress.

Mr Prasad said the cost of repairs of the new road amounted to approximately four million dollars.

The road was damaged during Tropical Cyclone Ana and upon consultation with the landlords, a new site for the road to be built was agreed.

The alternative route is located a few kilometres away from the slip.

Mr Prasad said the works were carried out by Kashmir Transport (Sub Contractor) under their FRA Maintenance Contractor, Fairdeal.

He said the new road would have three lanes for motorists.
