Methuselah went fishing at around 8pm on Thursday but did not return home.

His body was later found the next morning at Vatudamu Settlement in Savusavu.

His wife, Merleen Eria could not believe that her husband was gone because fishing was part of his daily routine.

She said whenever her husband goes out to fish, he would return after 30 minutes with his catch.

“Yesterday (Friday) around 5am I called my grand uncle and told him that Methuselah did not return home,” Ms Eria said.

“He went with other relatives and after half an hour they found his body on the shore.”
