Police Blue Win Series

Police Blue are the Super Sevens Series champions.
The Keponi Paul captained-side thrashed Wardens 36-0 to grab the third leg in a soggy Ratu Ganilau Park in Savusavu yesterday. They are now declared Series champions even with one tournament remaining.
Police Blue also won the first and second leg of the Series and are far ahead on the points table with 66 points.
Raiwasa Taveuni bundled out of pool play and are in third place with 44.
Jerry Tuwai’s LAR Barbarians lost 15-14 to Army in the Cup quarterfinals and moved into second place with 45.
Without Olympian Samisoni Viriviri, Police Blue brought in former Fijian 7s captain Kalione Nasoko and Kini Douglas to boost their campaign.
“Playing in this type of weather it’s anybody’s game,” Paul said.
“We stuck to our game plan and took things as it comes.”
Police Blue earlier on survived a torrid encounter against Eastern Saints in the Cup quarterfinals where they won 10-5 on sudden death.
The toast of the side was forward Suliano Volivoli who dived over to score the winning try after being set-up by Rusiate Nasove.
“It was our experience that made the difference,” Volivoli added.
