Marist Rugby Club president Lawrence Tikaram yesterday thanked Pacific Energy for their continuous support towards the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s for the past 10 years.

And yesterday they donated a cheque of $8000 and $2000 worth of fuel cards for the teams’ transportation.

Tikaram said such kind of support helps the sport of rugby to grow.

“The 45th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s cannot go ahead unless we have strong support from corporate bodies and especially our corporate partners,” he said.

“Pacific Energy has been a pillar of strength for not only Marist Rugby but also for our rugby players in Fiji.

“And having this 45th anniversary is a milestone achievement.

“And we recognised the fact that you have been with us through thick and thin and is a gesture of your company’s great vision, wisdom for stepping up to support us during this difficult times.

“This will go a long way in terms of developing the tournament to what it is today. “
