Blues Opt For Ali, Vonolagi Out

Lautoka Football Association has replaced Tagi Vonolagi as head coach effective from today.
Vonolagi has been replaced with Imdad Ali who has been with the team for the past two weeks.
So far in the Digicel Premier League match, Lautoka Blues recorded a 1-0 win over Navua, drew with Rewa 1-1 but hammered by Nadi 2-0 at the weekend.
It is also understood that the interim committee (which was appointed by Fiji FA early this year) and fans needed more wins.
When the former national captain joined the Blues, he did not sign a contract.
But was required to stay for a season just like the interim committee.
Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf confirmed they have been informed via email that Vonolagi and Lautoka FA have come to a mutual understanding to part ways.
“Lautoka Football has also asked Fiji FA on the grounds and the qualification of Imdad Ali. So we are awaiting for them to give us the full details before we can act on it,” said Yusuf.
Lautoka FA interim president Abdul Rafiq confirmed that there were issues needing their attention.
“We are still discussing and will comment on it later,” he said.
