Bus Tumbles Amidst Heavy Rain

A bus belonging to the Pacific Transport Limited held up traffic for up to two up hours after it tumbled on its side along the busy Edinburgh Drive yesterday afternoon.
This happened as heavy rains hit Suva.
Luckily, the bus had no passengers and the driver escaped without serious injuries.
The bus was heading towards Suva.
It was around 3pm when two men working at a bus garage, just a few metres, from the crash site saw the bus.
Kaji Joseph said: “We heard the noise and we came to see what had happened.
“When we came to the site, we saw the driver come out of the bus through the escape hatch.”
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the driver was travelling alone towards Suva when he lost control of the bus.
It to hit the curb before it tumbled on its side.
“It is fortunate that no other motorists were involved because it could have been a much more tragic situation,” she said.
“With the heavy downpour experienced in some parts of the country, drivers are being advised to take all precautionary measures.
“Drive slowly and be vigilant.”
A call was made to Pacific Transport. A representative from the company said they would wait for investigations then issue a statement.
