Miners Boost Vaturu Baabaas

The New Exodus IMAT-sponsored Vaturu Baabaas will take part in the 45th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s today after a decade.
This was possible through the support of Nadi- based mining company, Lion One Limited
The village senior team previously known as Mala Young Boys produced national reps like Vereniki Goneva, Fili Botitu, Donasio Ratubuli and Semi Keli.
Mine manager Sakiusa Waqanisau said during the handover at Nagado, Nadi yesterday that village teams are important an part of the Lion One family.
“In the past 10 years, the company has been lending supporting through the Community Social Responsibility programme,” he said.
“With this initiative we believe it would be a great platform to assist villagers who have rugby players who are talented.”
Team manager Alikesa Ranadali said the management of the team and the village chaplain appreciated the assistance.
“We thank Lion One Limited helping develop the youths of Nagado through sports and other assistances,” he said.
The side will field two teams, the senior one to be captained by Napolioni Taukei and the U19 team known as the Mala YB to be led by Peniasi Malimali.
