The Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy holders Nadi are ready to face Skipper Cup champions Suva at Prince Charles Park in Nadi, today.

Nadi Rugby Union sponsorship chairman Sekove Tuilakeba said yesterday this is rugby’s version of the Champion Versus Champion (CvC) series.

“We hope to make this an annual event,” he said.

“This is a grand build-up in Nadi’s preparations as the holders of the Farebrother- Sullivan Trophy as we will face Rewa in the first round of competition in April.

“The coaches are working on a game plan on how best to tackle Suva.”

In the past week, Nadi hosted neighbours Nadroga and Namosi in friendly matches as they worked on their combination.

“This event is also the driving force for the Nadi economy which had been affected due to the pandemic. If we remember the last Farebrother against Tailevu, we saw some sort of injection in the economy that is what we want to repeat,” Tuilakeba added.

FRU had added that Naitasiri will be the second challenger if  Nadi retain the coveted silverware.

The admission is grandstand $10, ground per $5 adult and $2 per child. The match kicksoff at 3pm.
