Police spokesperson Wame Bautolu yesterday confirmed that no arrests have been made yet in the case of seven-year-old Alanieta Drua Naituva’s death.
“The investigation is still ongoing,” he said.
Last week a Police source said foul play was ruled out as Alanieta’s cause of death.
Alanieta died in her home in Toko, Tavua. It was around 11am on Tuesday, February 23. No death certificate and burial order was sought.
According to information gathered earlier the deceased was allegedly sick for the last three months, but was never taken for medical treatment as it went against her parents’ religious beliefs.
