Rookie Fijian backrow Seru Uru has been named into the Australian Wallabies squad that was announced by head coach Dave Rennie yesterday.

Uru had been playing well for the unbeaten Queensland Reds in this year’s Super Rugby AU.

Getting a recall to the Wallabies squad is Fijian-born Melbourne Rebels No.8 Isi Naisarani. Despite a hamstring injury Suliasi Vunivalu was also included. Other Fijian players in the squad are Brumbies flanker Rob Valetini, Filipo Daugunu and Marika Koroibete.

Uru, Naisarani and Vunivalu started their rugby career while attending Ratu Kadavulevu School in Tailevu North.

Wallabies 2021 squad- Allan Alaalatoa, Tim Anstee, Tom Banks, Angus Bell, Filipo Daugunu, Pone Fa’amausili, Jake Gordon, Reece Hodge, Trevor Hosea, Len Ikitau, Feleti Kaitu’u, Josh Kemeny, Marika Koroibete, Noah Lolesio, Lachlan Lonergan, Alex Mafi, Tate McDermott, Fraser McReight, Andy Muirhead, Isi Naisarani, Cadeyrn Neville, James O’Connor, Hunter Paisami, Jordan Petaia, David Porecki, Lukhan Salakaia-Loto, Pete Samu, Irae Simone, James Slipper, Darcy Swain, Lachlan Swinton, Sitaleki Timani, Matt To’omua, Taniela Tupou, Seru Uru, Rob Valetini, Suliasi Vunivalu, Nic White, Harry Wilson, Tom Wright.
