The Mohammed Aiyaz Ali-coached Maigania side will not leave any stones unturned when the 2021 Digicel Muslim Inter-District Cham­pionship gets underway at the Prince Charles Park, Nadi tonight.

The tournament is organised by the Fiji Muslim Sports Association and spon­sored by Digicel Fiji.

The Nadi-based side won the title in 2019 and are in Pool A with Makoi, Var­avu (Ba), and Sabeto (Nadi).

“We are in a tough pool and we need to start with a bang. But I’m confident the boys will do us proud again,”Ali said.

The side has a lone survivor Moham­med Adil from the winning team.

Maigania faces neighbor Sabeto at Prince Charles Park, Nadi.

“ A win should set the pace for our team,” he added.

“We ask our fans to come out in num­bers to witness this tournament.”

Meanwhile, Lautoka reps Zibraaz Sahib will represent Lautoka Muslim, Afraaz Ali to feature for Cuvu and Abbu Zahid to feature for Ba.

The tournament takes a break on Thursday and resumes on Friday with the finals on Sunday.

Pool draws:

Pool A – Maigania, Makoi, Varavu, Sa­beto

Pool B – Nasinu, Navua, Lautoka, La­basa

Pool C – Rewa, Valelevu, Cuvu, Drasa

Pool D – Nadi, Ba, Suva, Maro.
