Finishing will be vital for the Navua football side heading into their next game against Ba.

They are currently last (eighth) on the Digicel Premier League table and have one week break before they take on leaders Ba.

In 1-2 loss to Rewa last week, they had 19 attempts but managed to score through a penalty to captain Vineet Chand.

Speaking to SUNsports, coach Amit Prakash said the team will have to work hard.

“We will have to put more effort on our finishing against Ba,” he said.

“Our stats revealed all the missed opportunities with the number of goals that we could have scored.

“Goal-scoring is still a problem and we need to improve in this area.

“The boys kept missing goal-scoring opportunities and in the end it costs us the game against Rewa.

“Football is all about chances so we have to take ours.

“We could have won against Rewa but the boys lost focus in the last few minutes.

“We will have to work on the last few minutes of the game because this is where fatigue and tiredness creep in. We will have to work on our mental preparations.”

“ We were automatically switched off and that caused us the game we will have to see that does not happen against Ba next week.”

“ They are very good side.”

Against Rewa, Prakash told the players to be focused on their roles.

“I reminded the players to be serious on and off the field so we will assess and then we will work around it,” he said.

“We will be changing things around ahead of our next game.”

Round five next weekend sees Lautoka vs Suva, Navua vs Ba, Nadi vs Labasa, Rewa-Nadi.
