Let’s Go Local: Savusavu, Yasawas Shining Stars

Sireli Maqala is a name worth remembering in the field of rugby.
The 21-year-old, originally from Ra, has made a name for himself over the past three years despite his young age.
He was part of the winning Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS) team in the Deans competition.
He was part of the Sanix World Rugby Youth Tournament in Japan, with his rugby team, and also winning the Sydney 7s tournament as a RKS representative, all in 2018, Mr Maqala’s passion for the game is evident in his journey and growth.
Despite having broken his right arm and left leg in the past two years, Mr Maqala perseveres in his career for the love of his family.
He became part of the national 7s team extended squad in 2020.
