Padarath’s Case Transferred To Anti-Corruption Court

The Anti-Corruption Court in Suva has ruled that the case of former political candidate Benjamin Padarath, should be dealt with by the Anti-Corruption Magistrates Division in Lautoka.

Padarath appeared before the Anti-Corruption Court Magistrate, Jeremiah Savou.

The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) has charged Padarath with sedition, attempting to defeat the course of justice, destroying evidence and disobedience of lawful orders.

Anti-Corruption Court Magistrate Savou said that Padarath’s bail should not be dealt with by the court and shall be reserved for both parties to re-visit the issue before the magistrate responsible.

Padarath has been remanded in custody at the Natabua Corrections Remand Facility.

He will appear at the Magistrates Court in Ba on April 8 for the case to be heard before the Anti-Corruption Court in Lautoka.
