Former military personnel Seremaia Tuiteci has reserved the “Ultimate Party for Fijians” as the name for his proposed new party.

Mr Tuiteci said they registered the name last September and are in the process of finalizing documentation to formally register the party in June.

“We are still amassing signatures wherein the Fijian Elections Office wants a minimum of 5000 as one of the formal requirements for registration. We are still very much receiving signatures and just last week a village head from the vicinity of Sigatoka travelled to Suva to collect 10 forms whilst another will meet with me in Suva with an equal number of duly signed forms,” Mr Tuiteci said.

“Last weekend I was invited to an informal settlement in the Suva area wherein supporters also provided their signature of support. Whilst we have hit the required minimum number of signatures, I am still very much responding to people who have continued to volunteer to sign as a show of support.”

He said he is grateful that people have volunteered to become officials at the Divisional Management Board/Constituency level particularly in the Western Division.

“We are still almost 18 months away from the 2022 General Elections but the fact that the UPFF has come into the General Elections preparatory limelight has really changed the makeup of Fiji’s political fabric and landscape,” he said.

“Our political ideology in our quest to safeguard our race, our inheritance and all that we Indigenous Fijians hold dear to the very bottom of our heart is sure attracting support to which I am most grateful.”

“Race is a fact of life and it’s God’s assignment to a person so that we have racial vibrancy to humanity and in the process we have a country that is rich in diversity and purpose.”

He also highlighted that he has been approached by three private envoys from SODELPA requesting him to join them for the 2022 election, adding that his options are open whether to join SODELPA or Unity Fiji.

His biggest worry in joining other parties, he said is the possibility of losing his political ideologies which is enshrined in his belief to protect his race and inheritance.

Unity Fiji Party Leader Savenaca Narube said they are open to discussing Mr Tuiteci’s interest to join the party.
