Today Ashna covered the following court proceedings:

1. Two former and six suspended Corrections officers charged in relation to the assault and death of Seremaia Naidole Momo, a serving prisoner in 2019 appeared at the High Court in Suva. The two former officers are Josefa Boletakibureta, 23, and Apisai Naqamu 50. The six suspended officers are Isei Rakaso, 41, Pita Raikoso, 24, Waisea Sadranu, 42, Josefa Satini, 35, Nemani Vasuvulagi, 28 and Joji Raqamate, 35, they appeared before Justice Vinsent Perera.

2. The two men involved in a sudden and brutal ‘bloody attack’ at the Public Rental Board barracks at Mead Road, Nabua, have been handed three years in jail by the High Court in Suva. Tevita Badogo, 27, and Eroni Bale, 27, appeared before Justice Thushara Rajasinghe for their sentencing after pleading guilty to three counts of act with intent to cause grievous harm.
