Families In Mead Road ‘Bloody Attack’ Told To Move Out

The families of three men, who were involved in the Mead Road ‘bloody attack’ on January 3, have been issued with eviction notices by the Public Rental Board.
This was revealed by PRB Acting general manager Patrick Veu yesterday.
The men forcefully entered a PRB flat and assaulted three men who were inside the flat on January 3, 2021.
“There were three tenants involved and we have given them and their family notices to vacate,” Mr Veu said.
“One had voluntarily vacated and two are still there,” he said.
He said they had given the case to their lawyers and were working on the case for their eviction through the courts.
“Their sentencing today will make the solicitor’s job even easier I believe,” he said.
“This has always been the case. If someone breaches the tenancy agreement they will face the consequences.
“If they don’t vacate we can’t forcefully come in and lock the place and tell them they need to move out. We cannot do that.
“What we normally do after their 30 days expires, we pass it on to our solicitors to take action through the courts. We give tenants 30 days eviction notice.”
PRB has issued 112 eviction notices since January 2020.
