Today Ashna covered the following court proceedings:

1. People must learn to resolve the problem peacefully, either through counselling or divorce proceedings in the Family Court.

These were the words of High Court Judge, Justice Salesi Temo while sentencing Waima village headman and farmer, Josevata Werelali Koroi, 33, to life imprisonment for killing his 27-year-old wife Adi Elenani Waidrau on May 1, 2020.

2. The Magistrates Court in Suva has ruled that there was no case to answer in the abuse of office case of the former Director Internal Affairs, Acting SSP Mohammed Talib Khan.

Khan, who was the Commanding officer at Totogo Police Station in 2017, was charged by the Director of Public Prosecutions with one count of abuse of office.
