It has always been hospitality for Francis Lee.

The Shangri-La Fijian Resort and Spa general manager, originally from Malaysia, moved to Fiji in 2016.

“Most of my career revolved around hospitality,” he said.

“I have spent most of my life based at several different locations around the world, notably Japan- where I met my beautiful wife.

“We both have a lovely daughter who now resides in Canada.”

What Are Some Of Your Hobbies?
I love to travel.

The world is a big, beautiful place- with so many exotic cultures and people to meet and learn from.

Other hobbies would include reading, especially autobiographies, and keeping fit.

I make it an aim to go to the gym daily, and from time to time, I also enjoy a game of golf and tennis.

How Many Places In Fiji Have You Been To?
I have visited Taveuni and a few islands off Denarau.

We have also had the opportunity to take a round trip around Viti-Levu.

What Is The One Place You’d Take Every Visitor To Fiji And Why?
After having lived in Fiji for a few years now, I would like to encourage visitors, local and international, to visit the Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park when they have the time.

It’s such a beautiful place, with unique features.

It also holds a lot of significant cultural and natural value to the Fijian people.

What Is Your Secret Backyard Favourite Spot?
Given we have a piece of property by Natadola, I just love the beauty and tranquility of the place.

InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is at Natadola Bay.

What’s Your Favourite Place In Fiji For A Pie/Coffee?
I enjoy dropping by to the Sigatoka Tappoos coffee shop once in a while- the people there are friendly.

I just love the fact that we would occasionally bump into friends and meet new people.

What Is One Fiji Spot On The Top Of Your Bucket List?
Now that’s a tough question- in fact I would say visiting Fiji itself was on my bucket list, and I believe it would be an international bucket list right now.

And what I have seen so far, everything is so beautiful and enjoyable, and I would recommend to anyone and everyone to visit Fiji.
