Pratap: We’ve To Compete

The Labasa football team are aiming to qualify for their first Oceania Federation Confederation (OFC) Champions League tournament this season.
The Babasiga Lions have registered six points after the completion of the fourth round of the Digicel Premier League. They are currently on fifth place in the standings.
The Lions are steadily making ground with only a single point separating them from the leading pack of Ba, Suva, Nadi and Lautoka who are all sitting at seven points.
Labasa coach Ravneel Pratap said they were approaching each game at a time because all teams were very competitive.
“We need to be careful as the competition is very tough,” Pratap said.
On Sunday the northerners face Nadi at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
Nadi have already caused major shocks this season as they’ve defeated Lautoka side 2-0 before edging defending champions Suva 1-0 at home.
However, Pratap said doing well in each game was vital for them maintaining a consistent performance during the competition.
“We need the full support of our fans because they provide the inspiration for the players to perform well every time we play,” Pratap said.
“The Easter break gave players enough time to relax and recover from a hectic period of games.”
