Jewellery carries a positive energy of the earth, says Rajen Kumar.

Having worked in the jewellery industry for the last 25 years, Mr Kumar believes jewellery is not just a valuable materialistic item, but an essence of the riches found in the ground.

The administrative director of Lords Jewellers Limited also believes in positive energies, and says Lords Jewellers Limited provides just that.

“When I see back, I have been guided by a force, an energy, just as the name of this jewelry store,” he said.

What are some of your hobbies?
I love music; both listening to it and singing. I am an occasional bathroom singer!

I also love sports.

I used to play soccer but have not done so in a while due to certain injures. I also play squash and snooker.

I do partake in social drinking and I socialise with family and friends because I feel that is an important aspect of life.

How many places in Fiji have you been to, and why?
I took a trip to Labasa, Savusavu, and Taveuni many years ago with a friend.

Plus, my wife is also from Taveuni so I frequent the island.

Otherwise, I have been to many hotels and resorts all over Viti Levu.

After celebrating the Hindu festival Holi at the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay and partaking in the Holi By The Beach event, I would recommend that resort to locals for its warm welcome and service.

What is the one place in Fiji you would take every visitor to, and why?
I would take every visitor to the Garden Island of Fiji, Taveuni.

When they said it is the garden island, they are not wrong.

It is truly beautiful and an amazing place for anyone who wants an all-natural experience.

What is your favourite secret backyard spot, and why?
It will be Nasese foreshore.

I go there every second day when I am out to buy bread in the mornings.

Being there makes my day.

What is your favourite place for a meal?
Daikoku Restaurant in Suva.

The freshness of the food being cooked right in front of you is truly something else.

What is the one place in Fiji that is on the top of your bucket list?
I don’t really have a bucket list, but the places I do desire to go to around Fiji would be Kadavu, the Lau Group and Rotuma – simply to see more of Fiji and its beauty.
