Two RKS Students In Police Custody

Two senior students from Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS) in Tailevu were taken into custody by Korovou Police.
The two are alleged to have assaulted some junior students from the same school, who are members of the Under-15 rugby league team, after they lost their rugby league game last Saturday. Police spokesperson Savaira Tabua said more seniors are expected to be interrogated concerning the alleged incident.
The Fiji Sun has confirmed that parents of the students and the Social Welfare Department were present at the Korovou Police Station yesterday as questioning continued.
RKS Parents and Teachers Association president Jovesa Korovulavula met with the school administration last night to discuss the issue. Bullying and assaults in the school have been making headlines lately. In the rugby league semi-finals that happened last weekend, RKS managed to win in the under 19 and 17 grades, but lost out in the Under-15 grade.
