Supermarket Sponsors Dratabu

The support will help the club produced more provincial and national reps.

Food King Supermarket will sponsor the Dratabu Rugby Club for the 2021 season.

The sponsorship package which includes uniforms and muscle vests worth $3500 was sealed between the two parties on Monday.

Playing in the Nadi Rugby Union competition, Dratabu RC has produced national reps like Vuniani Varo, Samisoni Viriviri  Snr, Peceli Gale Snr, Timoci Nagusa, Olympians and current 7s reps, Samisoni Viriviri Jnr and Kitione Taliga.

Club executive Iliesa Ranitu said the assistance would definitely boost the team.

“We thank Atish Maharaj of Kings Food Supermarket for supporting the vanua o Navo,” he said.

“The support will help the club produced more provincial and national reps.

Maharaj said: “When we opened our business in June 2020, we got attached to this village and we are proud to sponsor the team.”

Currently, two club members Simione Tora and Veniona Vuki are part of the Jack’s Nadi team.

The club is currently undefeated in the Nadi Rugby Union club competitions after it edged Gaunavou 23-22and thrashed Yakuilau 20-0 in the first two rounds.

The Socikeni Baravilala-coached side will take on Vunamaoli in round three on Friday at Prince Charles Park, Nadi.
