Sugar Cane Growers Council is encouraging cane growers to register themselves for the Micro Bundled Insurance offered by FijiCare Insurance Limited through the council.

The annual premium of $52 could be paid in cash or arranged from the cane proceeds deducted by Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC) payable to FijiCare.

Growers and their spouse could be registered to be part of this scheme covering a package of $10,000.

Growers can register with any of the SCGC offices.

From January, three cane grower families have benefitted, as term life payout.

The family of the late cane farmer Manasa Vunisa from Tavua received the term life payout of $4,000 recently.

While receiving the cheque, the emotional Kalara Rokoca thanked the Sugar Cane Growers Council.

Ms Rokoca was also surprised that her husband had taken out an insurance.

She would continue to pay for the annual premium for this year and next year, because she has seen the benefits for herself and her family.
