Police have recently recorded an increasing number of missing persons report related to children.

Police spokesperson Savaira Tabua said several of these reports were filed in recent days and have been a result of children going off to their friends’ place without their parents knowing.

Ms Tabua is advising parents and guardians to keep tabs on where their children are at all times and to be in constant communication with them, especially with the annual Coke Games next week.

“We’ve noticed that some missing persons report received are due to the lack of communication between children who chose to go off with their friends without informing their parents or family members.

“So we are advising parents that if you are allowing your child to be accompanying their friends to watch the game, just keep that extra close tab on them and ensure they return home after the game.”

Police are expected to release details of their operations in the coming days.
