Rugby Legend Wants To Mentor Nabua Youths

The man regarded by many as a national hero is willing to mentor the youths of Nabua to ensure peace between the two fighting factions.
Waisale Serevi is undoubtedly considered one of the greatest sporting icons of Fiji.
He said if given the opportunity he would talk to both parties and hopefully give them the message of the consequences of their action.
Nabua is where Mr Serevi developed his rugby career.
This is a community he holds close to his heart.
The 7s maestro said not many people know but at one point in his life he was at the same crossroads, many of the youths in Nabua are in.
“I want to be a role model for these kids, give them a light to show them the way,” he said.
“And I ask all youths of the country, not only Nabua, wherever you are, we need to look after the country, we need to be a good citizen of the country because the youths are the future.
“Some of them may not be working, some of them may not have family support.
“I want to tell them that where they are now, I was there once 30 years go. I was a no school. I had nothing and I too was trying to find my way to get to the top.”
Mr Serevi is likely to join the Police in handing out rugby jerseys to both Topline and Nabua village teams.
