A crime committee member in Nadi went out of his way to provide hot meals for frontline workers at the Mulomulo checkpoint yesterday.

Mohammed Imran Ali, 34, a businessman, who lives close to the Mulomulo Police Post, said he witnessed how the Police officers conducted their duty during the hot day.

He said some of the officers were standing under the hot sun while some were sitting in their tent near the roadside having their bowl of noodles.

He then went home to his wife and asked her to cook a meal – beef in oyster sauce with cassava.

Mr Ali said it was a vital gesture for him as a citizen of this country to provide for the officers who have sacrificed their lives for such a time as this.

“This is a very critical time for Nadi and I am thankful for some frontline workers who have sacrificed their lives so that we can lessen the transmission of this virus,” he said.

The officers were grateful for the meal and thanked Mr Ali. Edited by Losirene Lacanivalu
