Villagers Urged To Take Heed Of Govt Restrictions

Villagers in the greater area of Nadi have been advised to take heed of any restriction measures implemented by Government during the lockdown.
Roko Tui Nadi, Iosefo Roragaca Rovereivalu, has called on the village heads of Nawaka, Sikituru, Rukuruku, Sabeto and Vatutu to take the message out to the people- not to take these measures lightly.
Yesterday, Police monitored borders of entry into the restricted Momi Junction and the Mulomulo Police Post towards Sigatoka, to Nacilau, Vakabuli, and the Waiwai Crossing bearing towards Ba after another Covid-19 case was identified.
A 24-hour curfew was also in place within the greater Nadi and Lautoka area and members of the public were advised to adhere to lockdown and curfew restrictions.
Mr Rovereivalu said: “I am requesting all village heads to please advice the villagers on the importance of these restrictions set by the Government.
“Nadi is now on the high risk of the COVID-19 virus. The Prime Minister has announced that all Fijians should stay home and no public gathering,” he said.
He urged village heads to suspend all church gatherings, meetings and all sports events and villagers to take heed and stay within their village boundary.
“Please dont go from one village to the other, just stay within your village boundary”.
Mr Rovereivalu also advised parents to take care of their children because there was an announcement of the school holidays.
