Marking one year since the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic swept across the globe, many placed plans to invest on hold or were forced on serious career transitions.

Michael Broadbridge made the decision to pivot from a career built over 30 years in the aviation engineering industry to extending his position as a commercial property owner.

“After COVID-19 hit we lost a few tenants in our commercial building, I wanted to ensure the space could still generate income and take advantage of its central location,” said Mr Broadbridge.

“Resilience in business is built on protecting our family, our committed investment, and taking on those challenges head-on.”

It started in the heart of Martintar, Broady’s Bar and Café is the culmination of experiences and ideas built around the expanse of his network of family and friends.

He said: “Having spent many years looking for a spot where one could grab a coffee and pie in the morning.

“A hasty pick ‘n go lunch option en route to the next appointment and relaxing arvo catch up; this is it.”

Its prime location at the entrance of Zahoor road provides access to various transportation options, and there is no shortage of parking in and around the vicinity of the building, along the Queen’s Highway.

It is directly opposite to the RB Jetpoint building, Broady’s Bar and Café is hard to miss.

Menu, operations, and COVID Restrictions
Considering the recent developments and restrictions, the Broady’s Bar and Café team has taken the necessary measures to ensure the safety of their staff and customers by offering a hearty Broady’s Takeaway Menu.

“The Broady’s takeaway menu reflects our more extensive menu offering, this is a glimpse into the warm and hearty meals experiences our customers can come to expect from us.

“Though this limits the level of interaction with our customers, it does not take away the enthusiasm and joy we feel finally being open,” Mr Broadbridge said.

The proud Bar and Café owner is happy to provide employment to service industry graduates and former senior service staff from 5-star resorts from across the tourism industry.

“I’m honoured to have a very versatile team open up the shop with me. They’ve shown that they believe in the level of service that is destined to be unique to this Bar and Café.”
