Pacific Transport Limited, which provides one of Viti Levu’s long-haul bus services, has issued a number of COVID-19 stringent measures for its passengers and workers before entering their buses.

Company general manager Nitesh Chand announced the following:

  • The passenger(s) cannot enter the bus if they do not have a careFIJI app installed,
  • If the passenger has a button phone or has no phone, the passenger is required to release relevant information to the company,
  • The passenger will not be allowed to enter without a mask,
  • Body temperatures would also be taken,
  • All drivers and conductors are required to wear masks and gloves,
  • Social distancing is closely observed. Between 30 and 40 passengers are allowed on the bus at any one time. Families can sit together, but the rest will be socially distanced,
  • After every trip, buses are sanitised and cleaned,
  • Mr Chand said currently services were only provided from Suva to Sigatoka and vice versa

Mr Chand said these stringent measures were vital to fight the spread of COVID-19.
