Food Delivery Services See Business Growth

For app-based food delivery services such as Cyber Food Fiji and Fiji Eats, COVID-19 presents increased business.
Because of restrictions in movement, and dine-in options in restaurants, delivery services have become an essential service to connect the public with their favourite foods.
Owner of Cyber Food Fiji, Majid Shahzad, said the lockdown had seen more than 10 popular restaurants join their online platform as partners.
“Business for us have been very positive,” he said.
“Number of orders taken on average has increased.
“Hence, we are expecting our deliveries to also double the previous numbers during this lockdown.
“We are also taking COVID-19 measures very seriously so our customers can rest assured they are safe.”
Mr Shahzad said the delivery drivers wear masks, use hand sanitisers whenever necessary, and maintain physical distance.

Fiji Eats
Similarly, Fiji Eats also abides by the protocols in the bid to sustain their business whilst providing its popular delivery services.
Fiji Eats sales and marketing manager Sandeep Prasad said the western division in particularly had a rising number of orders.
“Last Wednesday, we saw there was an increased number of dinner orders from Lautoka than in Suva, compared to the other days,” Mr Prasad said.
Mr Prasad highlighted delivery services were a safer alternative to dine-ins and helped provide income for Fiji Eats’ 10 Suva drivers and six Lautoka and Nadi drivers.
Both the delivery services have urged restaurants to come on board with their services to provide more food options and accessibility to the public.
Cyber Food Fiji and Fiji Eats can be found online on Facebook by the same names.
